Chapter 538 THEY WILL KILL MY BABY
Chapter 538 THEY WILL KILL MY BABY
This invisible wall prevented Zuri from entering Tia's bedroom, but on top of that, she was stunned because it was unheard of for a shifter to be able to cast a magic spell.
"How can you do that?" Zuri stared at the woman, as her eyes turned dark. She was no longer chanting the weird language, but the invisible wall was still there.
"You can return tomorrow morning to meet with luna Tia," she said in a stern voice. She was standing behind her invisible wall, thus Zuri couldn't reach out to her and this upset her even further.
"You need to stop this. You will put us in danger if Chaos loses his control over himself," Zuri said, gritting her teeth. She didn't know why she should be here, but to see the power that they held, she started to think probably that was what Chaos wanted her to learn.
However, to think that she should learn that from people like these, it truly annoyed her.
"We can handle that," the woman said confidently, she even raised her chin slightly at Zuri. "You don't know the power that the white wolves hold, even though you are one of us."
Zuri scoffed when she heard that. "Excuse me? I have never said that I am one of you and it will never happen."
The woman's face turned red, but she said nothing, because she knew that she was in an advantageous position and all she needed to do was wait for Zuri to turn around and storm off.
However, before that could happen, they heard a loud explosion sound from the direction of Zuri and Chaos's bedroom.
"I HAVE WARNED YOU!" Zuri was seething as she dashed in the direction of her bedroom. Meanwhile, the woman had not yet gotten over her shock and was so stunned, until Tia came out of the bedroom.
"What happened here?" Tia frowned so hard when the sound of second explosion could be heard.
"That…"

"I want my mother…" Rhea whined to Knox because she wanted her mother and no matter what method that Knox used, it didn't work on her.
From creating a small ball of fire to entertain her to giving her a small kitten for her to play. All of those only lasted for one or two hours before the little girl started to whine, asking for her mother again.
"I want my mother…" Rhea said, tears welled up in her eyes. "My mother will read me a book before I go to bed."
"Do you want me to read a book for you?" Knox had used all the methods and he couldn't think of anything anymore now.
"But, I want my mother to read it for me."
"I will take you to your mother later."
"Promise?" She stretched out her pinky finger and Knox frowned at that. He knew what she wanted him to do, but instead, he stood up and started to walk out of the room.
"It's a promise, as long as you are quiet."
Rhea stared at the man and then nodded. She rushed to catch up with him. "When will you take me to see my mother?" She asked, as she grabbed Knox's hand.
This child was a chatterbox, she talked too much for someone who had a father like Knox.
"Soon."
Rhea was not satisfied with the answer, but she chose the book that she wanted him to read for her, yet her brows furrowed pretty quickly.
"I want a book with pictures. They don't have any pictures in them." Rhea pointed her finger at the history books on the shelves. "I want a book with dragons, fairies and monsters!" She moved her arms excitedly. "I want a story with magic!"
"Child, you don't know what you are asking for," Knox said bitterly. Those dragons and monsters would look fun and cute in children's stories, but not in real life.
"But…"
Rhea didn't get to finish her words when Knox waved his hand and the little girl stopped talking and closed her eyes.
However, instead of falling to the floor, her body was floating in the air before Knox caught her and carried her in his arms.
"I should have done it sooner," Knox muttered to himself and put her to bed. He was torn between leaving her alone in this house and staying behind, but he didn't know what happened to Gael and Skylar.
Knox rubbed his face roughly. He felt so stupid to bring Rhea to this place, it was a moment of impulsiveness and he was not sure what to do now. He was at a loss.
=========================
"Don't cry, we will figure out how to replace her," Sebastian said. He hugged July, but she pushed him away. She was so nervous and anxious to stay put and do nothing. "Aaron told you that he will bring her back." He reminded her again about this.
"No, he didn't tell me that he will bring her back, he told me that Knox will not do any harm to her!" July cried. "How can you be so sure about that?!"
July paced back and forth in her patio, staring into the darkness of the night. The light in the front yard illuminated the stone path toward this house. She imagined Knox walking through it, while bringing their daughter unharmed.
However, at the same time, the image of Knox coming alone and telling her that their daughter was gone, that Chaos had taken their daughter's soul, wouldn't stop appearing in her mind either.
July felt like she was going crazy with those thoughts.
Would Knox do that to Rhea? Would that be the last time she saw her daughter?
"Argh!" July fell to her knees and covered her face, as she screamed in frustration.
Sebastian immediately came to her and hugged her, even though she tried to push him away again. He tried his best to comfort her, but he was out of options now. The only thing that July wanted now was Rhea and he couldn't make it happen.
Sebastian didn't even know where Knox was. He was not in the McKeltar manor, or maybe he went there?
He would have gone to the McKeltar manor if Rhea was really there, despite all the danger, but no one could guarantee if Knox actually took her there.
"July, please, you need to calm down…" Sebastian had never seen July lose all of her senses like this. She was having a mental breakdown and there was no amount of words that could ease her pain.
"My child… my daughter, my baby…!" July cried her heart out, calling for Rhea, she was frantic. "Seb, do something… they will kill my baby!"
July didn't know that Rhea would turn out to be Chaos's shattered soul. She had seen her share of how he sucked out their souls and left them to disappear into dust. And the same fate would befall on her baby girl if Knox let Chaos do that to their daughter.
"Seb, what should I do? I can't let Knox give my baby to Chaos… he is a devil…" July wanted to believe that their friendship for a few years back then could save Rhea, but she doubted that.
"He will not do it… he will not do that to his own child." Sebastian was not sure about that, but he needed to say it.
"No!" July shook her head. "He doesn't love the child. He doesn't even want her! He follows Chaos blindly, you know that! He is his shattered soul too, Chaos will kill him if he tries to fight him."
July felt her chest cave in. She tried to think so hard about this.
"Sol… I need to call Sol! I need to ask him for help!" She would have never thought that she would need her brother's help.
A few years ago they were standing on different paths. She didn't consider them enemies, but their circumstances were a little bit complicated.
"Seb, prepare the car, I will get my jacket. Hurry!" July pushed herself up, as she saw a little bit of hope, there was still a way to save her baby girl.
July rushed into her bedroom to get a jacket, even though she didn't really need that, but she felt an urge to go to her bedroom anyway.
And there, inside her bedroom, on the bed, Rhea was sleeping soundlessly.
July was stunned for a moment. Was she sleeping? Or…
She immediately rushed to the side of the bed and put her finger under her nose to feel her warm breath, which made her let out a long sigh…
"Rhea… baby…" July shook her body gently, she wanted to make sure that she was awake, that nothing bad had happened to her.
"Don't wake her up, she is still sleeping," Knox said.
At the sound of his voice, July immediately turned around, she was on alert, as she put herself between Knox and Rhea.
But, Knox didn't make any move, he just leaned his tall body against the wall, as he folded his arms in front of his chest. This was his signature gesture whenever he was thinking deeply, a habit of his that July knew very well.
"Knox." July mentioned his name through gritted teeth. "What have you done to her?" She demanded an explanation.
"She is sleeping, you want to wake her up?" Knox tilted his head.
It had been six years since the last time they met with each other, a lot of things happened and now July was forty three…
The thought of the fact that the average age for humans was seventy flashed in his mind.
