Chapter 81 - Fate Of The Gong Liar

It's about time to unveil the answer to the question of how would Ji Yao respond after being embraced by Rui Fei. If it was any other time a gentle slap here or a simple, "Be good," would be issued but these weren't ordinary times.

Lies were told and the truth was found out thus making this situation anything but ordinary. So how did he respond? Well...

"Wait, wait, wait.... don't get mad," was what Rui Fei said that is before he was ruthlessly elbowed in the abdomen by an angry Ji Yao.

To be honest, that was to be expected considering Ji Yao's state of mind. It's actually a miracle that he didn't get an eviction notice which meant Ji Yao picked option B.

Rui Fei arched his back as he retreated half a step. Ji Yao hadn't used any of his seraphic energy but it still hurt. The problem was that it didn't hurt enough to play the sympathy card but Rui Fei could still act. The fact that Ji Yao was hitting him meant that he still cared. It was way better than being ignored and treated like the invisible man.

Rui Fei placed his hand on his abdomen groaning like an animal on death row. But this didn't deter Ji Yao. He was still so angry there was a whole lot of venting necessary for them to move on from this.

He made a move to shove Rui Fei but that immediately backfired. Ji Yao's arm was pulled then his body spun around and shoved against a boulder which was part of the cave structure from the outside.

Just as Rui Fei thought he had Ji Yao right where he wanted this senior punched him right in the face. Such an underhanded method came as a surprise to Rui Fei. He didn't think Ji Yao would stoop that low. What he didn't realise was the emotional distress Ji Yao was going through right now which meant anything goes.

Before he could recover from the throbbing pain on his left cheek he was tackled to the ground and engaged in what spectators would wonder whether it was a fight or simply fight flirting?

As fierce as he was Ji Yao was soon overpowered by Rui Fei. Rui Fei easily swapped positions with Ji Yao which meant he was the one now straddling this young master. He even went as far as pinning Ji Yao's wrists on the ground.

Ji Yao, "..."

After struggling for a bit he stopped his futile attempts and glowered at Rui Fei. He was experiencing all kinds of embarrassments right now more so after being subdued by a boy two years his junior.

Rui Fei felt a twisting pain in his chest being stared at like that. His Adam's apple rolled as he averted his gaze. "Yao-ge, just ca-calm down... ahem," he said still not letting go. Even a monk refraining from earthly desires would be able to tell something was wrong with the ambiguous position these two were currently in and the fact that one of them was reluctant to let go made it even more obvious.

Peeved, Ji Yao engaged his aether freeing himself before palm striking Rui Fei's chest sending the youth flying a few feet away. JI Yao stood up, dusted his clothes and straightened his hair that was a hot mess from being pressed against the ground.

He was still scowling but his mood had improved a little. He took two strides forward only to replace Rui Fei still playing possum with his back leaning against the boulder.

He fend off the urge to scoff as he inquired, "Are you going to stay here and keep acting? If you are then don't bother coming back home." As soon as he said this he started walking down the hill.

Rui Fei, "....."

It seemed his sympathy card had worn off very fast. He could no longer use this trick on Ji Yao anymore. He hurriedly got on his feet and followed behind Ji Yao like an obedient little child. The two of them didn't speak along the way as each of them were lost in thought.

Ji Yao was thinking about the dream he had when he was passed out. He was starting to wonder if this was even a dream at all.

The Huishe in the dream was the same as the one that appeared behind Rui Fei that day and that little boy was definitely Rui Fei so who was the old lady? He couldn't make sense of her words or the dream but he gained one insight from that dream.

That insight was that Rui Fei was a tad bit manipulative just like that boy in the dream. Just now he wasn't certain whether Rui Fei was acting so he decided to pretend like he didn't care and guess what? The kid stopped playing possum.

Ji Yao scoffed internally as he looked back at Rui Fei who was following behind him with his head lowered looking all innocent. That innocent look was all a facade, a mask that could easily fool anyone.

But as soon as that mask falls off one would shit their pants in fright. He shifted his gaze forward lacking the energy to deal with Rui Fei. He had a lot of things to do right now and Rui Fei was the least of his problems.

As soon as Ji Yao's gaze left his face the corners of Rui Fei's lips quirked up. The fact he was still here meant he was of some use to Ji Yao. At least now he didn't have to resort to devious schemes to keep Ji Yao by his side. Outside that cave, he had thought of various unorthodox methods to bind his and Ji Yao's lives together.

Sure, Ji Yao would hate him for it but it was better than being treated indifferently. That look of alienation Ji Yao gave him that day nearly scattered Rui Fei's soul and he didn't want to experience that again. Since there is a fine line between love and hate then he would rather pick hate than indifference.

Rui Fei was knee-deep in his thoughts that he didn't realise when they got to the Ji family mansion. All he knew was that he was following Ji Yao when he was suddenly denied entry into Ji Yao's bedroom.

Ji Yao was standing inside the room holding the door while facing him. This clearly demonstrated his meaning but Rui Fei was a little slow in reading the situation so Ji Yao was left with no choice but to spell it out to him.

"This is your official eviction notice. We can no longer share a bedroom. I will have someone prepare an extra bed in Rui Yewan's room. Understood?" he said before closing the sliding doors right in Rui Fei's face.

Rui Fei, "....."

It seems he did end up getting evicted after all. He had lost the right to share a room with Ji Yao. Wasn't this a bit harsh? He knew he was wrong when he lied but why take away his current benefits? Wasn't the 'ass whooping' enough? Feeling a little upset he scratched his head before walking away dejectedly.. Sure, he could see Ji Yao in his dreams but it wasn't the same.
