Chapter 46:

“What bravery from such a young lady! Go for it!”

“She appears to be the one who just returned to the Gill family. Was she a racer before this?”

“Judging by her words, she just might be a professional.”

“Indeed, looks can be misleading. She wouldn’t challenge that arrogant jerk if she weren’t skilled.”

“Go for it!”

As the crowd showered her with compliments, Adelina felt a surge of joy.

Her eyes sparkled playfully as she burst into a giggle, saying, “Harlee, where did you disappear to? I recall you were quite the racer yourself.

Come join me! Mayer is too much. Let’s defend Multitopia together!”

While speaking, Adelina scanned the crowd with a feigned expectant expression.

Because of the prior disturbance, many were aware that Harlee had once been the heiress of the Gill family.

Following Adelina’s invitation, all eyes began searching for Harlee.

Backstage, Harlee narrowed her eyes slightly.

Although she wasn’t entirely sure of Adelina’s intentions, the underlying hostility was clear.

The spot where Harlee had been seated in the stands was now vacant.

Adelina let out an exaggerated sigh, raising her voice on purpose.

“Harlee, have you fled in fear? Even though Mayer is talented, I can’t stand by and watch him disrespect our people.

At a time like this, no one from Multitopia should show cowardice. If you let others walk all over us, you don’t deserve to represent Multitopia.”

Adelina’s challenging words immediately won the crowd’s favor, while damaging Harlee’s reputation.

From Adelina’s taunts, it was clear that both she and Harlee were capable racers, yet only Adelina was brave enough to step forward, while Harlee seemed to have retreated.

Losing was one thing, but deserting was quite another. It would be utterly shameful.

Adelina’s taunting had Mayer chuckling loudly.

“That Harlee knows when to back down.

Aren’t you people from Multitopia the most cowardly? How can you stand up to us from Rockyland, who never surrender?”

The crowd was enraged, upset by Mayer’s insults and Harlee’s seemingly hasty escape.

“Bah!”

“Enough with your nonsense! Harlee doesn’t represent all of us.”

“That Harlee is a total embarrassment. It’s infuriating!”

“What a coward!”

“Who said I’d left?” Harlee gave Rhys a nod and emerged from backstage.

The manager turned to Rhys and asked, “Mr. Green, should I intervene?” He noticed Harlee was in a bind because of Adelina.

At Harlee’s composed demeanor, Rhys shook his head.
