How the Ice King Became my Doting Billionaire Husband -
Chapter 465
Adelaide knew this was undoubtedly the perfect moment to capture Morwenna. After all, no one else was aware that Morwenna was hiding here. They believed keeping her tucked away here was far safer than amidst the sprawling Hetfield family.
With her hat brim lowered, Adelaide kept her eyes fixed intently on the small apartment complex, waiting for Yara to send someone over.
Upon receiving the news, Yara instinctively wanted to seek out Phineas. But as she stepped out of her room, she paused, recalling the sting of the slap Phineas had given her and the smug look on Sabrina's face. For a brief moment, she hesitated to inform Phineas.
Despite their recent quarrels, the bond she had with Phineas since childhood still prevailed. Phineas had always treated her well, and such a significant matter surely needed to be shared with him. She couldn't entertain the thought of keeping it to herself.
In the Hetfield family, Yara indeed felt a sibling-like affection for Phineas. Resolving her inner turmoil, Yara resumed her steps, determined to inform Phineas so they could retrieve Morwenna promptly.
Unknown to her, a treacherous slick of oil had somehow found its way onto the staircase leading down from the second floor. Wearing slippers and in a rush due to the urgent news, Yara quickened her pace.
Suddenly, her foot slipped. Her eyes widened in terror as she instinctively clutched her belly. In the next instant, she lost her balance, tumbling down the stairs with a series of painful thuds.
The noise echoed through the villa, alarming everyone inside.
"Oh my God, Ms. Hetfield has fallen!"
"Look at all that blood. Do you think her baby is in danger?"
Despite her age, Yara insisted that everyone in the Hetfield family still address her as Ms. Hetfield, clinging to her status.
Phineas arrived swiftly at the scene, his expression darkening as he saw Yara sprawled on the floor, a pool of blood forming beneath her.
"Why are you all standing around? Get her to the hospital now!" he commanded urgently.
Yara's face was etched with pain and fear. Seeing Phineas, she reached out to him, her voice trembling, "Phineas, please come with me. I'm so scared."
Her unborn son was Yara's beacon of hope. Ever since she got married, the pressure to have a son had been relentless, an expectation ingrained in her very being. Due to her health, she couldn't undergo an abortion and had to carry every child to term. She had given birth to four daughters already, and now, at an age when she could be a grandmother, she was pregnant again. swnovel
Finally, she was carrying a son, and she'd been cautious throughout her pregnancy. With the due date f approaching, she couldn't afford for anything to go wrong now. swnovel.net
Desperate, she wanted Phineas,
whom she trusted, by her side at the hospital. Yet, Phineas hesitated, "Be reasonable, Yara. You go to the hospital first. There's news about Morwenna that I need to investigate. As soon as I handle it, I'll come to the hospital." swnovel
Yara's heart sank further at his words. Was news about Morwenna really more important than her current plight? This was Phineas, the brother who had always doted on her.
Security guards quickly arrived to carry Yara on a stretcher. Her heart filled with both sorrow and dread.
She contemplated revealing Morwenna's true location to Phineas, hoping it might persuade him to accompany her to the hospital. But just then, Yara spotted Sabrina.
Her sister-in-law was wiping something off the stairs with a towel. The staircase, devoid of any visible residue, still gleamed suspiciously.
Yara's eyes widened with realization. Sabrina had already cleaned the stairs and now stood, looking at Yara with a faint, knowing smile.
