Morwenna was a puzzle to Brian. She was self-centered and seemingly devoid of genuine warmth, yet somehow people were drawn to her. The most baffling thing to him was Norbert's decision to leave his inheritance to Morwenna instead of Stuart.

And now, even Greta, of all people, was willing to risk her neck for Morwenna. Brian couldn't wrap his head around it.

Greta, unfazed by Brian's confusion, gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "Alright, alright, enough with the questions. I'm not here to cause trouble. I'm going to take a little gamble. Once they let me in, it's anyone's guess who's in danger-me or them. You stay out here and be ready. If you hear the sound of me knocking things over, that's your cue to charge in."

Brian hesitated but eventually nodded. Morwenna had been taken several hours ago, and he was anxious to replace out her condition after she had been unconscious for so long.

With a determined look, Greta adjusted her expression and headed towards the gated community.

Just then, a commotion stirred nearby.

The metallic tang of blood hung in the air, causing Greta to glance back.

There stood Stuart, Fletcher, and Jack, accompanied by an older man who looked completely defeated.

Brian exclaimed, "Stuart! Finally, you're back!"

Stuart ignored Brian, his mind solely fixed on Morwenna.

Greta was pleasantly surprised to see them, even as she noticed their injuries. "Stuart, what happened to you? Morwenna's been taken, and we're trying to rescue her!"

Stuart, looking like a specter risen from hell, said nothing, his presence exuding a menacing aura.

Fletcher, his voice raspy, explained, "Thanks, Greta. We're here to help with the rescue."

Greta nodded, "With you guys here, our chances just got a whole lot better. Should I go in first to scope things out?"

Stuart was already marching towards the building, as if prepared to tear it down brick by brick.

Fletcher elaborated, "No need for you to take the risk. We've identified everyone inside, who they work for, and we've already captured their leader."

Jack added, "We've set up sniper support and a tactical team. We'll storm in and get Morwenna out as fast as possible."

After leaving the no man's land, Stuart had meticulously coordinated this operation. He'd even recognized a woman in a photo by the scars on her wrist-it was Adelaide. Years of acquaintance meant Stuart understood her patterns, and he

swiftly identified her potential allies.

Before reaching Rosefrost Hollow, they had already apprehended Matthew, the man Adelaide had partnered with, and had a clear. picture of who else was involved, including their strengths and weaknesses.

Greta caught up with them, raising an eyebrow. "Impressive work, much more reliable than Brian."

The once-cocky Brian now stood sheepishly silent.

Together, the group made their way into the complex, up to the nineteenth floor.

They approached the apartment they'd identified. Greta stepped forward and knocked on the door.

Inside, a handful of thugs were lounging, smoking. The knock made them freeze and exchange wary glances.

One of them, sporting tattoos, stubbed out his cigarette and peered through the peephole, seeing a strikingly beautiful woman outside.

The tattooed guy asked cautiously, "Who are you looking for?"

With a charming smile, Greta replied, "Oh, come on, darling. Stop playing around and let me in."
