Outside the door, Greta remained composed and calm, showing no signs of

nervousness.

Inside, a group of small-time thugs exchanged uneasy glances.

One of them whispered, "She might be the homeowner's girlfriend."

Another, with envy in his eyes, chimed in, "How did that nerd land such a gorgeous girlfriend?"

"Who cares if she's beautiful or not? What do we do now? Should we send her away?"

The inked man, clearly the leader among them, interrupted their chatter. "If we send her away now, she might cause trouble by talking to others. Open the door and let her in. She's just one woman. What can she do to us?"

The group nodded in agreement.

Someone peered through the peephole, their eyes gleaming as they looked at Greta.

She was a different kind of beauty compared to Morwenna. Where Morwenna was pure and innocent, Greta exuded a vibrant elegance.

Both women were stunning in their own right.

Morwenna was off-limits to them.

This unexpected visit from such a striking woman stirred inappropriate thoughts among them.

The door slowly opened.

Greta, in her high heels, swayed confidently as she stepped inside.

The inked man moved to close the door behind her.

Just then, a blood-stained hand blocked the closing door.

The inked man immediately sensed something was wrong.

Before he could shout for his comrades, a group of people rushed in from outside. They were swift and ruthless.

The men Stuart had brought with him easily overpowered the gang of thugs.

Their priority was to replace Morwenna.

Adelaide's eyes widened when she saw Stuart appear. The man she'd admired for so many years was as striking as ever, and she momentarily lost herself in the sight.

In that brief moment of distraction, the thugs were already subdued.

Stuart scanned the room; Morwenna wasn't in the living room, so he moved to search the other rooms.

Feigning surprise, Adelaide spoke up, "Oh, are you here looking for Morwenna?" Stuart narrowed his eyes at Adelaide, his gaze brimming with undisguised

menace.

The tension seemed to radiate from Stuart, reaching out to Adelaide, who broke into a cold sweat.

"Where is she?" Stuart demanded, his eyes fixed on Adelaide's throat.

It was as if he were contemplating how much force it would take to slice through the artery there.

Sweat trickled down Adelaide's neck, her fear turning to madness.

At this point, what did she have to lose?

Stuart had abandoned her, making her life miserable, so why not drag everyone down with her?

She smiled maliciously, "Can't you guess where she is? Even if you can't, you should be able to hear it. She's... keeping company with a man." From the closed room came the unmistakable creaking of a bed.

Morwenna wasn't outside, so she must be in that room.

The sounds coming from within were enough to provoke fury.

Adelaide saw the faces of the men darken and grew even more pleased, her voice syrupy with false innocence, "You know, despite her innocent looks, Morwenna has quite a figure. Even that little mole on her chest is so sexy."

Stuart's face blanched, the pain more intense than any injury he'd endured in the wilderness. He staggered, struggling to remain upright.

Fletcher, behind him, reached out to steady Stuart.

But Stuart was already sprinting forward, kicking the door open with a forceful blow.

Greta hurried after him, and everyone was seething with rage.

They couldn't bear the thought of what Morwenna might have endured.

It felt as though they had come too late.

The door swung open, and they rushed inside.

They found Morwenna lying weakly on the bed while a one-eyed man was energetically pressing down on the mattress beside her.
