Harvey personally escorted Angela and Dexter to the front row in the VIP area and chatted with them until he needed to go and greet other guests.
Once he was gone, Angela felt a sense of relief. She was finally able to relax and stop smiling. While it was genuine, constantly smiling had begun to strain her
face.
She casually munched on the snacks before her. "Mr. Bamford, it's unusual to see you in such a friendly mood today."
Dexter glanced at her and crossed his legs confidently. "Same here."
She couldn't help laughing. She found Dexter quite interesting.
"Angela, long time no see." A familiar voice reached her ears.
Angela stiffened, and her scalp went numb. She turned to see Trevor smiling at her and wondered why he was there.
Damn it! It had been so long since she'd seen him that she nearly forgot about that jerk. She couldn't believe she'd run into him here.
"Angela, you don't seem very happy." Dexter looked at Angela with a smirk.
With Natalie's support, Trevor's status in the entertainment industry had grown. Everyone flattered him everywhere, and he had access to many resources. He came today by invitation and was the only celebrity present.
"Come sit here," Dexter said as he stood up. He pulled Angela to her feet, and they swapped seats.
Trevor was completely unfazed. He turned to Dexter and remarked, "Dexter, Grandma wanted me to remind you that it's been over a month since you last joined us for dinner at Bamford Manor."
Ever since Trevor had moved in with Natalie, Dexter hadn't gone to Bamford Manor, and Angela and Fiona had completely avoided mentioning the manor. Their interactions with Joseph had been limited to occasional phone calls and video chats.
"Grandma has been thinking about both of you. She specifically asked me to come here today to share that she'll be waiting for you at Bamford Manor tonight." Having said that, Trevor left.
Angela felt particularly uneasy and asked, "Do you want to go back? I don't."
Dexter sighed faintly. "I don't want to either, but she's my grandma after all."
Angela waved her hand dismissively. "Forget it. I'll accompany you just to make an appearance."
The event lasted all day. During the event, Harvey formally introduced Angela to the guests and highly
recommended Graham Group
the end of it, Angela had collected contact information from at least 20 CEOs of major companies,
"You're really embodying the role of a successful CEO. When will you hire some assistants? Otherwise, you'll wear yourself out." Dexter smiled faintly at her as he drove.
Angela was dozing with her chin on her hand. She nodded and replied, "I'll think about your suggestion."
At the moment, she had support from Joanne, Clara, and Zack, who was still learning.
Joanne initially served as Angela's
indispensable strategic partner,
overseeing all her daily needs, including her food, clothes, and transportation. As time passed Angela had come to recognize Joanne's remarkable execution skills and efficiency.
Hence, she had gradually entrusted Joanne with more work-related responsibilities. Over time, they had developed a solid understanding and worked well together.
"If you need assistants, I can—"
Angela waved her hands repeatedly. "No. It's not necessary. If I need anything, I'll
just ask the HR department to recruit people. I won't bother you."
She had to remember that she didn't want to owe him anything anymore. She couldn't repay him, and she'd always struggled with that. She was awkward and had a hard time accepting help, but she wasn't planning to change.
Hearing her response, Dexter's once-bright smile faded a little.
