The Divine Wolf... or?
Chapter 145: Misunderstanding.

At first Ark was pretty nonchalant about the whole thing, but as he laid his eyes on the humans that had stepped out in front of them, his look sharpened. Three humans had stepped out in front of them, two guys and one girl. The girl was very beautiful, and she seemed to be around 20 years old. Her eyes were dark brown, which was fairly rare in this world.

Ark had mostly seen a plethora of colourful eye colours, but normal colours from his old world like brown were actually fairly rare.

The girl's hair was oddly enough dark green, which was something that Ark hadn't really seen before, at least not natural. The girl was about 1.7 meters tall, which was a little taller than average. But what really surprised Ark wasn't the girl, but rather the two guys on either side of her.

They both had the same set of armour on their bodies, a set of dark blue armour with an insignia on the left side of their chest plates. This insignia pictured a dark green deer, actually pretty similar to the colour of the girl's hair.

The guys seemed to be twins, as they looked almost completely identical, with azure coloured eyes, and pitch-black hair. As if to confuse others on purpose, the two twins had the same hairstyle as well, and walked in almost perfect sync next to their young lady. Ark didn't care that much about their appearance, as he had seen twins before. What shocked him was their enormous amount of strength.

He couldn't be too sure of their strength, as they were actively concealing it, but he did know one thing, both of them were over level 100, and they were not pushovers by any means, as Ark could feel some pressure from their bloodline as well. His was still more powerful, but this was like the first time a bloodline had ever had an effect on his own except for Thufrat.

Ark wasn't sure if Ephine and Atar were able to feel their strength at all, and so he hastily whispered to them both before the three could get too close. He also knew that these two knights would be able to hear him if he simply whispered normally, and he concealed his whisper with the help of some wind magic. "Be careful of these three, and no matter what you do, don't offend them!"

Even though he concealed it with wind magic, the three humans were all able to sense the slight amount of magic. Seeing someone using magic as soon as they were in sight, both the knights drew their swords instinctively and stood in front of their young lady. As it seemed, one of the twins was left-handed, whereas the other one was right-handed.

As Ark saw this, he knew that he might've screwed up big this time.

He quickly stood up from his seated position and put his hands up in the air in front of him. "I want no harm!"

The three humans understood what he was trying to do by showing them his hands, but neither of the knights put their swords down at all. The lady was a little more observant than her knights, and she noticed that Ark was nervous, really nervous, not only that, she noticed that he glanced at the two people behind him, indicating that he was worried about them.

Not only that, but seeing the expressions on Atar and Ephine's faces, she understood that he really didn't want any trouble.

She still didn't know what he said, but judging by how angry Ephine and Atar looked when her two guards pointed their swords at Ark, she could guess that he probably just told them to stay calm, or not do anything rash. "Put down yours swords, we don't want any trouble if there's no need for it."

Upon her request, the twins quickly lowered their swords, and put them back in their sheaths. But even though they did put them back in their sheaths, their hands never left the handles, just in case.

"What are the three of you doing out here?"

From the looks of things, they had just been sitting here and chatting with each other nonchalantly. Even though that sounded completely normal and all for a family. This wasn't a picnic. No one would have a family picnic in such a dangerous forest, at least not if they were sane.

The young lady could tell that something was off with this family, and that she was missing something, but she had no idea what it was, and she could only ask such a pointless question as a result.

"We were hunting earlier, but we just sat down to rest a little, Atar is tired after all."

This time, Ephine responded, and as she mentioned Atar, she gently rubbed his head a little. Just hearing her voice was enough to put both the guards and the lady at ease. The situation had undoubtedly become quite tense, and Ephine's soothing voice was enough to dispel some of the tension. Atar felt like he was being looked down on and he pouted a little, which only further alleviated the tension.

As everyone calmed down a little, the situation soon returned to how it was before Ark whispered, quite normal. Ark respected these humans in front of him, as they had managed to become this strong, and he was sure that they didn't have as many advantages as he did when he levelled up, which was worthy of his admiration for sure.

They were probably some of the strongest beings he had ever met so far, which spoke volumes about their strength.

Since he didn't want to hold them up, he put down his hands, took a step back, and gave them a friendly nod. "I'm sorry for disturbing you guys, I'll let you go back to being on your way." He tried to be as polite as he could, but as he thought about what he said, he noticed that he sounded a little rude. It definitely sounded like he just wanted to get rid of them, which was true.

They didn't have infinite time in these forms, and he didn't want to hold these random people up, as that would risk exposing themselves if they ran out of time. The lady was a little annoyed by his manner of speech, but she decided that they should probably just leave, as they didn't have all the time in the world either.

Before they were able to leave though, a heavy smell assaulted their nostrils. The heavy panting of another human being was quickly approaching their location, and it was accompanied by the heavy stench of blood. From the direction the human trio was headed, another knight clad in blue armour came running. He had the same insignia on the left side of his chest.

But in stark contrast to the twins, this knight was in terrible condition, and he was covered in blood.

"Young lady, please, we need your help, we can't hold on much longer!"

The voice of the knight was hurried, and he was almost completely out of breath as he spoke. As Ark saw the middle-aged man covered in scarlet blood, and feeling the stench burrowing deep down into his nostrils, his control started to slip.
