Chapter 98:

She felt embarrassed.

What was she thinking about?

She thought about what Celia had told her the other day, that she looked innocent on the outside and wasn’t on the inside. She was the lustful type of woman.

Sherry thought about it and Celia might be right.

“I haven’t eaten anything and you’ve kept me entertained all day, shouldn’t you at least make me a meal?”

“You…” Sherry became tongue-tied.

William parked the car next to the road and Sherry got out of the car.

Celia was already waiting in the driveway. She stared at the royal blue Bugatti and was shocked. She walked over, but didn’t approach Sherry. Instead, she knocked on the window near the driver’s seat.

William rolled down the window and poked his head in, “What?”

“Mr. Rowland, for once you’ve made a good decision, you’ve brought Sherry back to me. Otherwise, I would have come to you to get her back!” Celia wanted to tell him off.

She didn’t think he would stop Sherry at the airport and take her away.

William was stunned, but then smiled, “Miss Hickman, Sherry is lucky to have you as a friend!”

“Cut the flattery. Tell me, what do you think of Sherry?” Celia pressed her hand against the car window, which was half down. “I’m telling you, don’t you dare bully her. I don’t care if you’re friends with my brother or whatever, I’ll give you hell if you ever bully Sherry!”

“Celia!” Sherry walked around the car and tried to push Celia away, “We’re going in!”

William laughed, not answering any of Celia’s questions. Instead, he asked, “I want to take her on vacation, can you take care of Dan in the meantime?”

What? Celia gaped.

“You didn’t answer my question!” Celia wasn’t going to let him go.

William looked at Celia and turned his head to Sherry, who looked distressed. His gaze softened, “That’s my partner, Miss Hickman! Are you happy with my answer?”

Celia was surprised, but then she laughed sharply. She replied without hesitation, “Sure! You go on vacation and I’ll take care of Dan. Sam… Is that Samuel? I want to meet Samuel too, bring him to me. I’ll take you both on a trip.”

“Celia!” Sherry’s heart was beating fast as she listened to their conversation.

William said lover! He announced it in front of Celia so earnestly. She herself felt moved.

“Wait, one more question!” Celia tapped Sherry on the back as she said, “William, you have to promise me that you will never abuse Dan. Dan is my darling son too, no one can treat him badly with me around!”

William thought she was joking, but nodded and replied, “You’re thinking too much! Dan is a precious boy, how could I abuse him, can I go now?”

“Good!” Celia didn’t expect William to say that, but she was very pleased with his answer.

“All right, Sherry. Let’s go in, we’ll drink till we drop!”

William looked at Sherry and his eyes twinkled. He rolled up the window and drove away.

Sherry stared at the Bugatti as he drove past her. She was conflicted.

Lover, was she good enough to be his mistress? Did she have the right to love someone?

“What are you looking at?” asked Celia as she lightly touched his shoulder. Celia was elated, “Sherry, this guy is so handsome! I heard he was a lady-killer, but you’ve subdued him just for yourself!”

“Stop talking nonsense! I didn’t do anything.” His face was red as a beet.

Celia smiled. Then she noticed a hickey on Sherry’s neck, she smiled even more wickedly.

She walked up to Sherry’s face and smiled, “Sherry, can I ask you a question?”

“What?” Sherry was confused.

“Did they just do it?” asked Celia as she laughed, “Tell me, how are their skills in bed?”

“Celia…” Sherry pushed her away. She wanted to dig a hole and stuck her head in it. “You… You’re so bad!”

Celia burst out laughing.

“I see, you say he’s great in bed. Look at your face, it’s red as a tomato! Hahaha… Alright, I’ll stop teasing you. Let’s go inside.”

They entered the restaurant and saw Susan. She was sitting by the window and was very well dressed, as usual. She looked like an independent woman.

“Sue’s in there!” said Sherry.

“Yes!” Celia turned around and saw a large-built person standing not far from the column.

It was her brother, and he was looking at Susan.

Celia knew that her brother always looked at Susan when he was there.

Sherry looked toward Celia as she saw Celia stop in her tracks.

She noticed that Leon was smoking in the corner of the restaurant and staring at Susan.

She was taken aback and her mouth dropped open.

“We’re on our way!” Celia dragged Sherry with her and headed toward Susan.

Susan was sitting alone and ordered a coffee and a steak. The steak was untouched.

“Sue!” Sherry hadn’t seen her in a long time. The first and last time they had seen each other was during the fashion show.

“Oh, Sherry, it’s you!” Susan was surprised.

She noticed that Celia was there too and was a little startled. But she smiled brightly as she said, “Celia, how are you?”

Celia sat down across from her and said intrusively, “I’m fine, but someone isn’t!”.

Sherry didn’t know why Celia was talking like that. She gave her shirt a slight tug.

Susan ignored Celia, smiled and took a sip of her coffee.

Suddenly, Leon walked over. He probably did so after seeing Celia and Sherry approach Susan.

He feared they were up to something.

“Hey! The bad person’s here!” said Celia coolly.

Sherry realized that maybe something was going on with Leon and Susan.

Susan was dismayed, stared at Leon and smiled kindly, “Why are you here, aren’t you busy?”

Leon looked at Susan.

She gave him a nonchalant, nonchalant look as she said, “Riley, fix Celia and Sherry a cup of coffee and a steak each!”

“Brother!” Celia fussed, “Sit here!”

Celia relinquished her seat to him and Leon sat down right in front of Susan.

Now he could look her in the eye and talk to her.

Sherry was sitting next to Susan. She didn’t know what had happened between Leon and Sue.

The way things were going, something bad happened between them.

She felt uncomfortable and hinted to Celia to leave with her so she could sit at another table. But Celia sat down and wasn’t going to leave.

Susan was still smiling politely and plainly. She sipped her coffee gracefully, “Coffee tastes good, Leon. Your coffee is unique.”

“Are you praising me?” asked Leon as he stared into her eyes.

“How are your parents?” Susan didn’t answer his question and instead asked him a question.

“Their only son’s future wife ran away and became a nun, and their only son went without going near a single woman for 5 years. How would they fare?”, Leon said sarcastically.

Susan was taken aback. She lowered her head and her eyes darkened.

Leon said nothing more, but continued to stare at her.

Sherry noticed that the expression in Leon’s eyes was complicated. Leon probably loved Sue very much.

Susan said nothing as she lowered her gaze.

At that moment, the waiter brought the food and drinks.

Susan still said nothing. She raised her fork and knife gracefully and began to eat.

Sherry noticed that Leon was holding back.

There seemed to be a lot of things he wanted to ask, but it all turned into a deep sigh. He stood up and said clearly, “Enjoy your meal, I’m going back to work!”.

Susan smiled and said, “Go ahead!”.

Celia chased after Leon, worried.

Only Sherry and Susan were left at the table.

“How have you been lately, Sherry?” asked Susan.

She was still smiling as if nothing had happened.

“Sue, I’m doing great. How about you?” Sherry didn’t know what else to say and was eager to ask the inherent question.

She looked at Leon, who was leaving in a hurry, and couldn’t help but ask, “You and Leon…?”

“We were classmates!” Susan interrupted Sherry. “Sherry, the steak here tastes great – try it!”

It was obvious Susan didn’t want to talk about it.

Celia had a sour look on her face when she returned.

She stabbed the steak hard and asked, “Sue, I don’t understand. If you don’t like my brother, why do you come to his restaurant? You hurt him on purpose.”

Susan was puzzled.

Her hands were shaking, but she kept smiling, “This is a restaurant. I like the atmosphere here and that’s why I come here to eat.”

“You were almost my sister-in-law, Sue. You were my future sister-in-law and suddenly you disappeared. You broke up with my brother via text message and now you constantly appear before him. Don’t you think that’s weird?” asked Celia angrily.

Sherry finally understood what was going on. Susan and Leon were in a relationship, she even met his parents and they were almost married.

Susan tried to smile even wider, she tried her best to keep her elegance, “Celia, next time I’ll pay attention and not show up in front of Leon again! Enjoy your meal! I’m done!”

“Sue!” Sherry pulled her back, “You haven’t touched your steak yet!”

“Don’t go yet, we need to talk!” said Celia as she stared into Susan’s eyes clutching her fork and knife.

Celia looked like a warrior ready to go into battle, her look made people tremble.

Susan raised her eyebrow and sat up, “Okay. What do you want, Celia?”

“Sue, my brother still loves you. I also think you still love him because you’ve stayed single all these years. And you always come here. Why would you do this and hurt each other if you didn’t? You’re getting older, don’t waste any more time!”.

“So what?” asked Susan calmly.

Suddenly, the elevator door opened and a white figure could be seen.

Sherry knew the person, her name was Ashley. The other day she had an arranged marriage meeting with William. This person was also her mother’s stepdaughter.

Ashley gracefully turned around as she reached the second floor. She said to the waiter, “Tell the owner Ashley is here and to come out and greet me!”.

The waiter quickly went to call Leon.

Soon after, Leon walked through the restaurant. Everyone looked at him because his large stature attracted attention.

Leon unconsciously looked at Susan and smiled as he walked toward Ashley.

They stood by the elevator and were talking about something.

Leon then led Ashley to a table and they both sat down.

“Can’t you put your ego aside, what has my brother done wrong?” Celia didn’t notice what was going on behind her. She was still questioning Susan.

“It’s not him, it’s me!”

Leon and Ashley were talking happily.

Susan glanced at them briefly and quickly averted her gaze. Her eyes bugged out and she said clearly, “Don’t worry, I won’t be coming this way anymore!”
