"Yeah, Pete! How could you do this to us?" Francis reproached him with knitted brows.
Outwardly, he was backing Andrew up, but on the inside, he was filled with doubts.
He hadn't expected Angela to send gifts not just to him, but to Pete as well. He believed Angela must be desperate, resorting to such a foolish strategy as buying them off.
However...
Francis stroked his chin. That painting was exquisite so much so that he couldn't stop admiring it. He had already hidden it away at home, reluctant to let anyone else lay eyes on it.
"Uncle Andrew, I just want to gain some experience away from headquarters. Don't worry, even if I go to the subsidiary, I would never betray you. Angela wants you to move to a subsidiary too, right? That way—"
"You're an absolute fool!" Andrew interrupted Pete with a cold sneer.
"Can't you see this is clearly a ploy to weaken you? Once you leave for the subsidiary, there's no telling if you'll ever return. By the time she dismantles everything you've painstakingly built here, what will you do then?
"And do you really think she's actually nice enough to keep the two of us together? Not a chance! That wicked woman claimed she'd replace me a cushy position, but I'd be lucky if she doesn't make me a doorman."
Andrew coughed violently, nearly hacking up blood.
Pete's expression shifted rapidly, torn by indecision.
He had wanted to leave for years. That desire had been burning within him for a long time, but his mother had always told him that sticking with Andrew was the best path to success.
Now, however, Andrew was Angela's prime target, and Sean was nothing but a useless fool-more of a burden than an asset.
Years of comfort had dulled both of them, stripping them of any ambition. If they couldn't adapt, Angela would crush them easily.
Pete had no intention of sharing their fate.
More importantly, he didn't believe his capabilities were beneath his ambitions. If he could make a name for himself, it would only be a matter of time before he was able to return.
"Uncle Andrew, I don't have a choice. Ms. Graham already sent the letter of appointment, and I accepted the position. I can't just go back on my word now-that would only give her more reason to take me down." Pete put on a troubled expression.
Andrew was about to curse him out again when Francis stepped in. "Mr. Graham, sending Pete away isn't necessarily a bad thing. We both know Pete's capabilities. If he makes

"And where did you get the nerve to defend him?" Andrew shoved Francis aside.
"Did Angela give you something too? What's with your attitude today?"
Francis quickly waved his hands. "No, no, of course not. My loyalty to you is unwavering, Mr. Graham. I've

could be bought so easily? That young woman is nothing in my eyes!"
Andrew's expression finally eased. "That's more like it."
Francis let out a sigh of relief subtly. He started to think Andrew was getting old.
Back in the day, Andrew's mind had been much sharper, but now he was impulsive, blinded by emotions. He had indulged Sean's mistakes time and time again, and now he was dragging himself down too.
Francis began to wonder whether Andrew would be able to get through this. If he couldn't even handle something this insignificant against Angela, was he even worth his loyalty anymore?
Harvey wasted no time. Just two days after meeting Angela, he had already sent a team to negotiate the partnership.
Angela, equally efficient, handpicked eight top employees from the design department to form a special team solely dedicated to collaborating with MK Corporation.
"This project is critical. I need everyone to be at their absolute best. If anyone dares to mess up at a crucial moment trust me, they won't be able to walk away unscathed."
Standing at the podium, Angela assigned responsibilities to everyone.
