Chapter 14:.

Sara left the company escorted by the police and after giving her a warning they let her go. Standing in front of the huge building Sara smiled, she had never intended to go inside, she knew Hugo wouldn’t let her, she just wanted to get to the reception and cause some small problems for him.

She had achieved her little goal that morning, so after laughing a little she left for the University, what Sara didn’t know was that everything that had happened had been reported to Rafael and the elder Moretti was furious with his grandson and before Sara arrived at the school she received a call from Rafael.

“Hello grandfather, how are you?” answered Sara.

“Sara daughter, come see me right away there is something I need you to sign.”

“Sure Grandpa, I’ll be right there.”

Hanging up the call Sara put the phone away and went out to replace a cab. Thirty minutes later she entered the Moretti Mansion, she was amazed when she saw many cars parked outside. Normally Rafael did not receive visitors, unless it was something personal, and he delegated all business matters to his grandson.

One of the employees escorted Sara into the study where there were 5 men dressed in suits and Grandfather Raphael.

“What’s wrong grandfather?” worried Sara.

“Nothing daughter, just some papers I need you to sign.” Sara was no fool, she knew that if there were so many witnesses it couldn’t be some simple papers, something was up with Old Rafael.

“Grandfather ” spoke Sara lengthening the vowel sound or in an accusing tone ” don’t lie to me. Tell me what’s going on.

“Look how smart she is ” spoke Rafael looking at the men and pointing at Sara ” It’s not easy to fool him. A very smart girl and top of her class ” boasted Rafael proudly and then looking at Sara he added.

“These are my lawyers, I called them because I found out that today you went to the company and my grandson called the police, to prevent that from happening again my lawyers are going to transfer some shares to your name ”

Sara tried to refuse and Rafael did not allow her and continued speaking ” I founded that company from scratch, although Hugo gave it the power it has today I am still the major shareholder with 50% , Hugo has 40 and the other 10 his father. I am going to transfer you 40% of my shares so that you have the same power as Hugo in the company and I cannot deny you entry”.

Sara tried again to refuse and Rafael did not let her “There is no way you can make me give up, I already made a decision and there is no turning back. I know you are a good student, soon you will graduate and you should already start your internship, you can work in the company and then decide what you want for your life” Sara knew Rafael well and knew he was a stubborn old man so after analyzing him she made a decision.

“Okay” Sara agreed “but with some conditions. First of all we are going to give his grandson another chance, if I go back to the company and he denies me the entrance, I accept the shares. Secondly I don’t want to have anything to do with the company’s decisions, after all the company is the fruit of your work so it belongs to you and your descendants, all this will just be a front to put pressure on my husband. And thirdly, he will draw up another contract so that I can pass the shares to Hugo when I decide, that the document is ready and signed by me and only needs his signature for it to be valid. That way, when everything is finished, he can have what is rightfully his.

Rafael agreed and the lawyers got to work as soon as possible. Sara had not counted on Rafael to take this action, but having now in his possession 40% of the shares of the Moretti Group it would be easier to pressure and take revenge on Hugo, after all that was his only objective. She did not want to steal what did not belong to her, nor take advantage of Rafael’s kindness who had been so good to her.

After all the documents were ready Sara signed them and left. Rafael was pleased with the result in spite of Sara’s conditions, after all his objective was also to put pressure on Hugo, he did not want to deny him what belonged to him either. Hugo was his only grandson and he was very fond of him and wanted only the best for him. Rafael had not told anyone, but he knew he had little time left to live and the only thing he wanted was to leave his grandson in good hands and with a good life ahead of him.

Sara slept peacefully that day, even in her sleep she smiled imagining the face Hugo would make when he knew she had shares in his company. The next morning she got ready and went to the company again. The same girl from the day before stopped her as she was about to go up to the elevators.

“Miss, we already told you that you can’t go up, you are not authorized.”

“And I already told you that I am the wife of your boss, I have the right to go up.”

The girl smiled, everyone in the company knew that the boss was a womanizer and that he had countless affairs, but they had never heard of a wife and now out of nowhere this crazy woman appeared claiming to be married to the boss.

“Miss don’t insist and please leave, don’t force me to call the police again.”

“I demand that you call your boss and tell him I’m here and I want to come up.”

The secretary had no intention of calling her boss again but due to Sara’s incessant insistence she had to give in and call Laura Hugo’s secretary.

“Good morning Miss Laura here is again the lady who claims to be the boss’s wife, what should I do?”

Laura had no idea what to do, Alejandro had already alerted her that this woman was no crazy woman, if not Hugo’s real wife, but Hugo refused to see her and yesterday after her departure, Hugo was in a terrible bad mood. Laura considered for a moment and finally decided to inform her boss and let him make the final decision.

Laura took a deep breath and plucked up the courage to knock on the door of her boss’s office. Hugo was meeting with Matias, it was one of those surprise visits that Matias used to make to him and that drove him out of his mind, he hated being interrupted at work, so when Laura knocked on the door she saw her escape route and immediately ordered him to come in. Laura looked visibly nervous and Hugo suspected that his escape route had turned into a dead end.

“Sir, at the reception desk is the young lady from yesterday, she claims to be your wife and has the right to come up and talk to you.”

Hugo took a deep breath, he wondered what that woman wanted, this day had not started in the best possible way and he could see that it would only get more complicated as the hours went by.

“Are you married?” asked astonished Matias who knew nothing about it or couldn’t remember.

“I don’t know that woman and I am not interested in seeing her” he spoke raising his voice and then looking at Laura who was almost about to tremble he added “tell her to go away and if she doesn’t obey call security or the police, whoever but tell her to go away and don’t bother me anymore with insignificant things, I pay them to take care of the problems or I have to do everything myself.

“Yes sir.” replied Laura and almost ran out of the office. She picked up the phone and dialed the front desk.

“Let him go and if he doesn’t obey call security.”
