Sara was satisfied with the outcome of the evening and dismissed each guest one by one. She helped to organize the venue a bit, but finally Emily forced her to go to rest, Nadia proposed to take her to the Villa, but Sara refused and asked them all to go to rest, after a long and busy day, they needed to gather strength.

When Sara went to her car she saw the figure of a man leaning on the passenger door, he had one hand in a pocket and in the other he was holding a cigarette, if imposing figure made her recognize him immediately, she considered turning around and taking a cab, but she was too slow and Hugo saw her, she took a last puff of smoke and then threw the cigarette to the ground and stepped on it.

“You’re here already, I didn’t think you’d be so long, don’t you have employees to do the rest of the work?” his magnetic and seductive voice sounded a little hoarse, Sara noticed all the cigarette butts on the floor and guessed he’d been waiting a long time.

“Some people we don’t have fun being despot and tyrannical bosses, so we prefer to earn the respect of our employees and not their fear” finishing speaking she rounded the car and removed the lock opened the door and sat down, she was about to leave when the copilot’s door opened as well and Hugo sat down next to her.

“May I know what you are doing.”

“Accompanied my wife home after work.” replied Hugo simply as he smiled, he couldn’t look away.

“It looks like you had a short circuit after telling so many lies tonight, but I advise you to stop the stupidity and get out of my car.”

“I don’t want to” he replied and buckled his seat belt.

Sara didn’t want to waste any more time with him, so she started and car and left the parking lot, as soon as she was on the road she accelerated the car. Hugo could only watch how the needle of the speed clock was increasing, he really wasn’t a cowardly man, and he didn’t want to look weak in front of Sara either, but the knot in his stomach was getting too thick and he couldn’t help but speak.

“Don’t you think you’re going too fast, if you want to die you can do it alone, there’s no need for you to drag me down with you.”

“I gave you the chance to come down and you didn’t obey, so now don’t complain.”

Sara smiled and in her eyes you could only see pure evil. Hugo held on to the seat with all his strength, suddenly there was a dangerous curve and Sara tried to slow down but the brakes didn’t work.

“Sara, slow down” his voice no longer sounded seductive, it was powerful, it made it clear that it was not a suggestion, it was evidently an order.

“Sara, the curve, slow down for God’s sake.”

“You think I’m not trying, stop yelling at me, the brakes aren’t working.”

She sounded calm, but was actually a little scared, she tried to slow the car down, but her brakes were not responding.

“I’m going to try to go around the curve and get off the road call an ambulance and the police, I don’t know if I’ll make it.”

Hugo said nothing and obeyed, he immediately pulled out his phone and called 911 and told them what was happening. Sara concentrated on trying to keep the car stable and with difficulty she made it through the curve, but a car was coming from in front and she was going in its path so the other driver ended up swerving and crashing.

“Let’s let him leave the main road and avoid more accidents.” said Hugo and this time he tried to sound calmer, he needed to comfort Sara, at that moment the worst thing would be for her to fall in panic.

“You are right. Look for an alternative route in the GPS”.

Ten minutes later the speeding car left the street and turned onto a road that had no pavement, this way they could slow down a bit. Sara began to drive zigzag and Hugo was holding back the urge to vomit, he had never felt so helpless.

“I’m going to try to crash, hold on tight.” ordered Sara, Hugo was going to complain, tell her it was crazy they could both get killed, but she didn’t give him time and crashed the car into a tree.

Five minutes later the police and ambulance sirens could be heard arriving to the scene, Hugo had also sent a message to Alejandro and he also arrived a few minutes later, he could only see how the paramedics and firemen were trying to get the couple out.

Journalists also arrived and news of the accident began to circulate immediately. Nadia did not know the true condition of the couple or whether they would survive.
