Chapter 55:.

The first rays of sunlight were coming through the window illuminating Sara’s delicate face, she gradually opened her eyes and found herself in a room she didn’t recognize and what was even more amazing was that an arm was around her waist and a man’s face was resting on her neck, enjoying the scent of her hair.

Sara immediately tried to push him away, but the man hugged her tighter and settled back in.

“Ummm, don’t move.” his voice sounded husky and sweet.

When Sara heard that it was as if she had been given an incentive and with her elbow she gave him a hard punch in the stomach and then pushed him off the bed.

Hugo had slept late because he was working, so when Sara moved the first time, he spoke half asleep without understanding what was happening, suddenly he felt a strong blow in his abdomen and small hands pushed him out of bed.

His first reaction when he hit the floor was to scream, he was planning to get up and retaliate, but suddenly he remembered something and that was that he was sleeping with Sara, which meant that if someone hit him it was her.

Hugo stood up immediately and looked at the beautiful Sara sitting on the bed, her long black hair was loose and fell over her shoulders, her face was flushed, but her look was defiant, just as he remembered her.

Hugo’s emotions were overflowing, so without measuring consequences he jumped on the bed and hugged Sara.

“You woke up” he said in a whisper.

Sara didn’t know how to interpret that show of affection, since the two of them had never been close, even though they were married, she thought it was because he was still in shock from the accident, so she let him vent for a few seconds.

But after a minute Sara realized that Hugo had no intention of letting go, so she had to struggle to free herself from his arms.

When she was finally free she got off the bed and marked a prudent distance from Hugo

“Mr. Moretti I would appreciate it if you would not touch me again without my consent.” Hugo still didn’t react, he couldn’t believe he was seeing her, arguing again.

“You woke up.” was the only thing that came out of his mouth.

“You said that already. I don’t understand why so much fuss because I slept for a while” suddenly Sara understood something and suddenly said “Because it was only for a while, wasn’t it?”

“You’ve been sleeping for two weeks, the doctor said it could take hours or months, maybe even years. You don’t know how glad I am that you’ll wake up.”

Hugo reached for her again and hugged her once more.

Sara was stunned at what she had heard, so she didn’t move from the spot as she organized her thoughts.

Just then the door to the room opened and in walked Alejandro speaking.

“Sir we just captured the person responsible for accident…”

When Alejandro saw the embracing couple he immediately shut up.

“I… I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have interrupted, I’ll be back later.”

Sara who had heard what Alejandro said pushed Hugo’s body away from her then looked at Alejandro.

“Don’t interrupt anything, tell me what you found out.”

“Mr. Moretti I think we should talk in private, the lady just woke up and needs to rest” Alejandro said nervously, trying to make Hugo understand that it was best that she didn’t know.

“I’m perfectly fine, now tell me everything” Sara ordered, Alejandro looked at Hugo for support, but he didn’t understand anything.

“You heard the lady, talk”. Hugo wanted to score points with Sara and he thought that a good way was not to take authority from her.

Alejandro sighed and finally spoke.

“Sir after checking all the cars we finally got a lead on the man who tampered with Señora Sara’s brakes, we finally managed to replace him and after a thorough interrogation he confessed that he had been hired by a woman, he didn’t tell you name, but the man had seen her before in the news next to him. A voluptuous brunette”.

There was no need for Alejandro to say her name, everyone knew he was talking about Nina.

The room had fallen into an uncomfortable silence that ended when Sara took a glass from a small table and threw it at Hugo, fortunately his good reflexes allowed him to dodge it, but Sara started screaming and throwing everything in her reach.

“You fucking bastard, you almost killed me one of your conquests, because of you I was sleeping for two weeks, you fucking cheater.”
