Chapter 80:.

“Alright, let’s get this over with.” He said as he headed for the door to leave, but before he disappeared he said, “And for the record, I won.”

Hugo didn’t understand what she meant at that moment, but two hours later 6 lawyers and other workers appeared in his office, Hugo tried to refuse to see them thinking it was another trap from Sara, but in the end he had to give in, the workers showed him charts, critiques and reviews of Sara’s restaurants.

In such a short time they had become the most famous, workers came with their families, reservations were full for months and they enjoyed a good reputation for their delicious dishes and cozy atmosphere, while they analyzed the suppliers, premises and clientele.

Hugo could not recognize any names, there were no acquaintances on the supply lists, investments or even employees and this was because Sara had not used any of the Moretti Group’s connections, she had gone out of her way to close her own deals and get her partners and employees.

When the employees finished their conference Hugo knew he had lost the bet and had once again underestimated Sara, and when he was about to believe that she would take everything from him, his shares, his position and leave him out in the street, a lawyer approached him and put some documents in front of him.

“This is a transfer of shares, all the shares that had been given to your wife become yours again, you only have to sign”.

The lawyer spoke pointing to one of the documents and then pointing to another one he added: “This is a divorce agreement. Both are signed by Mrs. Sara, they only need her signature to be official”.

Hugo did not understand anything.

“But why if she won?”

“Señora Sara never thought of keeping her shares, she refused them when her grandfather offered them to her, but after much insistence she accepted them on the condition that there was another copy ready and signed of transfer to you and that she could give them to you when she saw fit.”

Hugo finally understood that she was not an interested party and that she did not want to steal what was hers, she only wanted an opportunity to show her talent, she wanted to be seen as a capable and hardworking woman, she wanted to earn things by working, not by getting it from anyone.

Hugo knew that Sara was a magnificent woman, it was a pity that this incredible woman could not be by his side, that she had no feelings for him. He had even prepared and signed the divorce agreement, that was why he had not insisted on it, after all she was planning to leave him.
