Chapter 9:.

It took a full week for the students to forget about Sara’s gossip, she continued with her activity and life as usual, so soon the rumors were dispelled. During the first days Emily found it difficult to get over her relationship with Oscar, who kept calling and sending messages, he had even shown up a couple of times in the girls’ dormitory, but he was chased away by Sara and she warned him that if he came back it would not go well, in the end she got tired of insisting and Emily with Sara’s help started to feel better.

On Friday afternoon Sara invited Emily to go to the mall and distract herself for a while, at first she didn’t agree, but she ended up accepting and after changing they went shopping.

Hugo was busy all week at the company as he had been away for a long time, he had a backlog of work, so he had no time to waste. There was a knock on the office door and he motioned for them to enter. A blonde girl, with porcelain skin and delicate features made her way in, her every movement detonating elegance.

“Hello Lolo” the girl greeted.

“Angelín, you’re here” Hugo greeted surprised.

“Yes, I just arrived and I came to see you”.

“You shouldn’t be here, you should be resting.

“I slept a lot on the plane,” she explained and approached him when she saw him stand up.

“Aren’t you going to say hello?”

“Yes, sorry, you just surprised me” she walked over and gave him a small kiss on the cheek and short hug.

“I’m going to the mall to buy Grandpa a present, do you want to come with me?” Hugo thought about refusing, but remembered he hadn’t visited Grandpa since he arrived.

“Okay, let’s go.”

The couple left the company, rode in Hugo’s car driven by Alejandro and went quietly chatting. They went all over the mall, she bought a set of limited edition cups and a tea for grandpa, but Angelín was not pleased, she felt she needed something else, they kept looking and entered another store, Hugo stayed outside answering a call while Angelín looked around, when suddenly she saw on the counter a set of cups but they were much more beautiful than the ones she had bought, each cup had a phoenix and an engraving underneath that said some celebrity phrase. Immediately she knew that was what she was looking for, but when she went to take it a sales clerk approached.

“I’m sorry miss, but those are already purchased.”

“Well, I can take others just like it.”

“I’m sorry, miss those were a personal order, there are no others like those, you can fill out the form and come pick them up in a week.”

“But I can’t wait a week, I’ll take these same ones, tell the owner when he comes that they take longer.” the clerk smiled nervously and with a smile tried to convince her.

“Miss, you can order the ones you want, but those are already sold, I can’t give you those, besides the owner…”

“She’s already here” Sara interrupted her coming out of one of the fitting rooms.

Angelín turned to look at Sara and seeing the way she was dressed he guessed she didn’t have enough money, so a voice that conveyed superiority said to her.

“I’ll offer you double what you paid for them so you can buy two more sets of rates.”

“Sorry, they are not for sale.”

“You can place the order and come in a week miss” tried to mediate the sales clerk.

“I told you I don’t want others” shouted Angelín attracting the attention of Hugo and the store manager, both arrived at the same time and the manager nervously greeted Hugo.

“What’s wrong?” he asked Angelín seriously and she was quick to answer.

“It’s just that I saw a rate game that I liked, but the sales clerk doesn’t want to sell it to me.” the manager threw a murderous look at the girl and she quickly spoke.

“It wasn’t like that miss, I explained that the cups were ordered by a client, you have to request it a week before and the client already came to pick them up, I can’t do anything” explained the clerk pointing to Sara, Hugo then looked at the girl who was in a corner and hadn’t noticed until then.

“But I’m going to see your grandfather today Lolo, I want to give him the fees.” Hugo looked at Sara who was silent and remembered that she had told him to pretend not to know her, so he took his wallet out of his coat, took out a wad of bills and put it on the counter.

“Give him the rates and with this you can buy as many others as you want.” he said looking at Sara, she looked at the money on the table and laughed, took rates in her hands and said.

“The cups were ordered by me, according to my design and to my taste so I will not let anyone else have them; ” finishing speaking she threw the set of cups on the floor, breaking each one, then she turned to the sales clerk and said” They are already paid”. She turned and walked out of the store, bumping into Alejandro who was entering the store at that moment.

She apologized and continued on her way, Alejandro kept looking at her and felt he knew her from somewhere, but he couldn’t remember where. Inside the store the manager apologized to Hugo for the inconvenience and asked him to choose anything else, but Angelín angrily asked to leave.

Sara left, practically running out of the store so she wouldn’t have to meet Hugo again, damn man, she was talking about cheating when he had a girlfriend and yet he still accosted her and reproached her for being unfaithful to her husband.

Sara hurried to where she had left Emily and told her that they had to leave. Emily agreed without resistance and they left the mall just in time to see the couple riding in a car. Sara couldn’t help but snort when she saw Hugo open the door for Angelín and put his hand on her head so she wouldn’t hit the roof of the expensive car.

All men are just as treacherous, she thought and got away from there as soon as possible.
