i decided to see Miya again, maybe because or guilt, or maybe because i have no idea what i am getting my self into by deciding to help Maddox and Ryker. But Darax is the reason the fae race is almost extinct, and he deserves to pay for that, no matter the cost to myself.

In my eyes he is the one responsible for the deaths of my entire family, whilst he didn't land the final blow, it was his war that began it all.

He was the reason i spent all those years alone.

He is the reason my world has been destroyed, and he needs to die for it. Like so many of my people had.

He destroyed everything i dreamt of becoming, and because of him i now have to become less than myself.

I have to fight back, I have to show him that i am NOT weak.

My race will live on in me, i will make sure of it.

i stepped down into the Dungeons, a guard i didn't know the name of was by my side today, and i wasn't entirely sure that i was comfortable with that.

He didn't speak to me much either, it was clear that he would rather be doing anything else rather than taking care of me.

Especially when they still see me as the enemy.

Miya was huddled in the corner, sobbing softly as i stepped into the harsh light, her small frame caked in dirt.

"Miya." I call softly, siting on the floor in front of the bars. "Miya its me, Elora."

She glances up, her eyes red a puffy. "I didn't think you'd come back." She whispers.

I place a hand against the bars, wishing Maddox had removed the anklet so that i could break her out. But he wasn't stupid.

He knew i would take her away from here, and set her free. Or as free as she could be in this mew world.

But she was the only leverage they had over me, and they weren't about to let her go. No matter how much i begged for her.

"'willanways corner Jack' on you Wilya, you 'aren ny i frenrd. "I brýrt, wschings cards more for her. "They are going to bring you some soup, it should help you feel stronger."

Miya shakes her head, defiance in her eyes. "I don't want anything from them."

"You need to eat, you will never recover if you don't." i lean forward, "I need you Miya, please know that. i can't live in this world without you."

She shuffles forward on her legs, lowering her voice so only i could hear her. "Where are they taking us Elora? I heard the guards talking and they mentioned that they would return home soon. Where is home for these monsters?"

"I don't know, but i met the man behind the entire war today, he was cruel and he wants me dead because i am fae." I rest my head against the bars. "I don't think i can live the rest of my life in fear anymore. i am tired."

"I am tired too." Miya admits, grasping my hand in hers. "Don't let them destroy who you are Elora, that is all they do, they destroy."

"Come with me Miya, i will ask them to bring you along for me. i cannot lose you."

The guard comes down the stairs, his unnatural yellow eyes glancing between us. "The Kings are calling for you."

I sigh, tightly squeezing her hand reasuringly before i let go, rising back to my feet. "Think about it Miya, living to fight another day is better than giving up."

She glances between me and the guard, eventually nodding before she retreats back into the corner, curling into a ball as if to protect herself.

I wanted nothing more than to free her, or ease the suffering in her mind. But i could do neither.

I couldn't even protect myself, let alone anyone else.

I wipe a stray tear from my eye, following the guard up the stairs and out into the snow. The bitter wind biting at my skin.

I shiver, pulling the small blanket further around my shoulders as i hurry to follow the guard, worried and afraid.

I didn't leave Ryker that long ago, it had been over an hour, but not much longer than that. Had something happened?

Had Darax come back and decided i wasn't to be left alive?

I didn't know what to expect as we rounded the side of the house, my eyes wide as i watched for anything unusual. The guard stopped suddenly, causing me to bump into his back with a small yelp, almost knocking me off balance.

"What is going on?" I ask, my heart racing.

Something was wrong.

Something was terribly wrong.

i watch as a tall creature rounds the corner, his black eyes and rotten fangs giving me

all the information that i needed. I had been led into a trap.

"Ryker!" i scream, the creature lunging at my throat.

I was going to die.
